Privacy Policy

Last updated: 29 Oct 2026

This policy explains what FindHelp does with your personal data, and your rights over it. We process personal data under the GDPR.

In short: we collect the minimum needed to run the platform, nothing for advertising, and you can export or delete everything from your account settings. Questions? support@findhelp.pt

1. What this policy covers

Accounts and profiles on FindHelp and app.findhelp.pt: customers who request services, professionals who offer them, and visitors who browse the site. It does not apply to platforms we link to (e.g. the professionals' own websites).

2. Data we collect

Customers: account basics (name, email, phone), job requests, messages, reviews, and photos or files you attach to a request or job.

Professionals: everything above, plus what verification and billing require: tax ID (NIF/NIPC), identity document or selfie for check, criminal record certificates where the vertical requires them, professional licences, service areas and languages, prices, bank/payment details for the membership, and ratings with response statistics.

Technical: we keep it minimal and anonymous - aggregate, town-level usage analytics. No fingerprinting, no session replay.

3. How we use your data

  • Run the service: show your profile or request to the right people, deliver quotes, chats, bookings and support
  • Verify professionals (L1/L2/L3) and keep badges honest
  • Process professionals' memberships through our payment provider
  • Keep the platform safe: prevent fraud, spam and fake reviews
  • Improve the product, using anonymous aggregate data only

We never use your data to profile you for advertising, and we don't sell data. Ever.

4. Verification documents

Identity documents, selfies, criminal record certificates and licences exist only to verify a professional. They are never published or shared with customers, access is restricted to the reviewers who need them, and they are deleted once the verification decision is made - unless a law or active dispute requires us to keep them longer.

5. How we share your data

  • With the professional you hire: your contact details needed to do the job
  • With our payment provider: professionals' billing data only
  • With service providers (hosting, email): under contract, only to run the platform
  • With authorities: only when the law requires it

6. International transfers

Our infrastructure providers may sit outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, we rely on recognised safeguards (such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses) and keep the personal data transferred to the minimum needed.

7. Retention

We keep account data while your account is active. After you delete your account, personal data is removed from our systems within 90 days (backups are purged on their normal cycle). Requests, messages and reviews attached to the deleted account go with it.

8. Cookies

FindHelp uses no tracking or advertising cookies. Only what the site and app strictly need to function (e.g. keeping you signed in). No consent banner needed, because there's nothing being sold to third parties about you.

9. Children

FindHelp is not directed at anyone under 18, and accounts are for adults. Childcare and senior care listings are provided by professionals, not FindHelp; if you believe a minor's data has been submitted, tell us at support@findhelp.pt.

10. Your rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete your personal data from account settings at any time, including your photos, requests and reviews. You may also object to or restrict processing on specific grounds, and withdraw consent where one was given.

11. Complaints

Talk to us first: support@findhelp.pt. You also have the right to complain to the CNPD (Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados), Portugal's data protection authority.
